Governance

The IAH Executive Committee met with Trustees in February to review the annual business plan and set a budget. Income is mainly from membership subscriptions, supplemented by congress donations and Springer Nature support. Discussions included future plans for the Burdon Network Fund and the need for clearer roles and revitalisation of commissions and networks. It was agreed that improved communication with members as new policies are drafted is of the utmost importance.

A follow‑up online meeting in June reviewed ongoing initiatives, including ensuring all National Chapters have compliant constitutions amid increasing regulatory scrutiny. Internal policy reviews and funding transparency were also addressed. It was agreed that Associate Student membership verification should be tightened as this free status is currently open to misuse.

At the Council meeting in Melbourne during the 52nd Congress, membership engagement, regional activity, and fee stability were discussed. Governance updates confirmed that the Charity Commission had approved certain revised Articles.
