Membership increased from 4543 in 2024 to 5067 in 2025. There were 665 students with free membership and 1205 students in total including paid-for memberships. We supported 244 members from low-income backgrounds with sponsored memberships, with costs for 136 members covered by central funding and the remainder by national chapters and other philanthropic donations.
The full membership figures for each Region were:
Sub-Saharan Africa 467
North Africa and the Middle East 200
Asia 641
Australasia and the Pacific 852
Eastern Europe and Central Asia 90
North America 627
Latin America and the Caribbean 333
Western Europe 1857
Total 5067
It’s great to see the membership increasing across the world, in all regions this year. We also welcomed a new corporate member, bringing us to a total of 79 corporate members. Student members make up a large proportion of the IAH membership, with students accounting for nearly a quarter of the membership now (24%). This figure includes both paid and free Associate Student Members. Our hope is that many students will choose to continue their memberships once they finish their studies. Discounts of 25% are available on fees as students enter the profession and we are beginning to see that some are taking advantage of this.
